Attract China CEO Named to HSMAI’s Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales & Marketing
Boston, Mass. — December 3, 2014 — Attract China, The Leading Gateway to the Chinese Traveler, is pleased to announce that its CEO/Co-founder Evan Saunders has been selected as one of the Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales & Marketing. The annual list is compiled by the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) to highlight those who have made a sizeable influence on the hospitality, travel and tourism industries.
“It is an honor to be recognized by HSMAI this year as a sales and marketing leader in our industry,” said Saunders. “It is also a testament to the industry’s focus on Chinese tourism to America, and the need to make it a priority.”
Following nominations, each recipient was selected by a panel of senior industry executives based on their recent work meeting the following criteria: creativity and innovation; cutting edge sales or marketing campaigns; triumph in challenging situations; and sales efforts that resulted in dramatic gains.
“I cannot think of a more deserving honoree than Evan,” said Joseph A. McInerney, president and chief executive officer emeritus of American Hotel & Lodging Association and a member of Attract China’s board of advisors. “He has been a pioneer in emphasizing the value and importance of Chinese tourism to the United States economy. But more importantly, the work that he has done to educate a cross section of industries throughout the country on the Chinese traveler is truly invaluable.”
Founded in 2011, Attract China works to connect destinations including hotels, restaurants, retailers and attractions to the independent Chinese traveler. Through customized, Mandarin-language content, a website and social media, Saunders and his team provide the essential tools and platform needed to reach, attract and maintain lasting relationships with Chinese tourists. Over the past 18 months, Saunders has expanded Attract China’s U.S. business operations to 13 sales markets with additional expansion planned for 2015.
Saunders and the other 24 honorees will be recognized during a private ceremony taking place at the Adrian Awards Gala on February 23, 2015 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City.
