Attract China CEO to Present at Houston Tourism Summit

Houston wants more tourism. Houston First Corporation and the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau have unveiled a bold plan to expand tourism by 30 percent over the next three years. The goal is to increase the number of domestic and international visitors to 20 million annually by 2018.

China is the number one tourism source market in today’s world. Chinese outbound travel will increase by 15 percent to over 114 million outbound trips this year, amounting to a total of $140 billion dollars in travel expenditure. In Evan’s speech, he will introduce the current trends in this rising market and offer practical advice for businesses targeting high-spending Chinese travelers.


The Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau and Houston First Corporation have a renewed focus on leisure tourism to increase the number of visitors to the area.
