How the Winners of the Attract China Ultimate Chinese New Year Trip Spent Their Time in Boston and NYC
The winners of Attract China’s Ultimate Chinese New Year Vacation to Boston and New York City ended their exciting 8-day trip on March 2nd and boarded Hainan Airlines, which is the first and only airline to operate nonstop service from Boston to Beijing.
Attract China, The Leading Gateway to the Chinese Traveler, partnered with Tencent Inc., the world’s 4th largest Internet company, through the winter months last year to launch a Chinese New Year Vacation contest on its Chinese online travel portal – XiaoYaoDao, promoting Boston and New York City as exceptional travel destinations during 2015 Chinese New Year. Also sponsoring the contest were Attract China’s respected partners in the two cities.
“I couldn’t believe it was true until I got on the Hainan flight,” said the winner Mimi Sun.
Mimi Sun and her friend Cheng Fu spent the first 4 days in New York City, staying at The Quin Hotel – a luxury boutique hotel in Midtown Manhattan. During the daytime, they leisurely explored the city’s most popular museums – MoMA Museum, Museum of Natural History, Guggenheim Museum and Metropolitan Museum of Art. They also enjoyed their visits at night to Madame Tussauds, Blue Man Group show, Empire State Building and Macy’s.
“I was absolutely thrilled!” said Mimi on Weibo after her visit to the Museum of Natural History. “There’s too much to take in at one visit, but I didn’t want to miss a thing. The Dark Universe Space Show was especially impressive. I bought a NASA t-shirt right outside the theatre. If we weren’t rushing to Blue Man Group, I might have stayed there overnight. But I’m glad I left because the Blue Man Group show was incredible! I highly recommend watching it at least once.”
While in Boston, Mimi and Cheng stayed at the 5-star Boston Harbor Hotel and enjoyed more outdoor activities, exploring the city’s historic preservation and its’ many attractions. With CityPass booklets in hand, they saved time by skipping the lines. From Quincy Market to Boston Common, New England Aquarium to Museum of Fine Arts, Harvard University to MIT, they experienced the best that Boston has to offer. What was even more exciting was that they had two prime seats at TD Garden for the Knicks vs. Celtics Game. However, top of the two ladies’ Boston list was, of course, shopping at the world famous Newbury Street and the New England’s largest outlet center – Wrentham Village Premium Outlets.

Another highlight of their 8-day trip was complimentary dinners at some of the best restaurants in each city, thanks to our partners – Toro, Boulud Sud, The Lambs Club and Piora in New York City; and Union Oyster House, Blue Dragon and Top of the Hub in Boston. After each meal, Mimi shared food pictures and her pleasant dinning experience on Weibo.
Attract China is delighted that the 8-day trip has created lasting memories for the two lovely ladies who filled their Samsonite suitcases with not only “Made in USA” products for themselves bus also souvenirs for other participants of the contest.
