Attract China, The Leading Gateway to the Chinese Traveler, is pleased to announce that the winners of its Ultimate Chinese New Year Vacation to Boston and New York City from China arrived on Friday, 20 February at 2:13 pm in Boston on Hainan Airlines non-stop flight 481from Beijing amidst some of the area’s coldest temperatures.
Attract China partnered with Tencent Inc., the world’s 4th largest Internet company, to promote Boston and New York City as viable travel destinations during the winter months. Also sponsoring the contest in Boston are the Boston Harbor Hotel, Amtrak, Boston Celtics, the New England Aquarium, Museum of Fine Arts, Top of the Hub, Blue Dragon, Union Oyster House, Samsonite, Ghirardelli Chocolates, Wrentham Village Premium Outlets and the Skywalk at the Prudential. Sponsors in New York City include Toro NYC, BouludSud, The Lamb’s Club, Piora, Macy’s, MOMA, Guggenheim, Blue Man Group, Madame Tussauds and others.
“Boston and New York City are not just warm weather destinations,” said Evan Saunders, CEO and co-founder of Attract China. “Chinese New Year takes place usually in January or February and is a huge travel period. Boston and New York can both benefit during a season when tourism is usually slow.”
The winners will experience Boston and New York City over a 7-day period, promoting the cities and their experiences online to other Chinese travelers in China. The winners, Mimi Sun and Cheng Fu from Beijing are excited to see the US for the first time and are not concerned about the snow on the ground or the cold weather. “We’re so excited to see Boston and New York during Chinese New Year – dining, shopping, attractions, we have so much on our list of activities!”, said Mimi Sun.
Founded in 2011, Attract China works to connect destinations including hotels, restaurants, retailers and attractions to the independent Chinese traveler. Through customized, Mandarin language content, a website and social media, Saunders and his team provide the essential tools and platform needed to reach, attract and maintain lasting relationships with Chinese tourists. Over the past 18 months, Saunders has expanded Attract China’s U.S. business operations to 13 sales markets with additional expansion planned for 2015.
