Attract China welcomes Melinda Bush as Chairman and Partner
Attract China is proud to welcome Melinda Bush, C.H.A. to the Attract China team as Chairman and Partner.
Melinda Bush is one of the industry’s most well-known and respected experts on the issues affecting the hotel and tourism industries. With over 25 years of front line experience building and managing the world’s largest travel trade publishing companies for Rupert Murdoch and Reed Elsevier, Mrs. Bush is frequently cited in the press as among the most well-informed and influential executives in the hotel and resort industry.
Her achievements include the development of ongoing industry research that defined both the travel trade and consumer lifestyle changes occurring in America – and how they would impact the hotel and resort marketplace; the global 12-office expansion of Hotel & Travel Index, providing reservation and marketing services to over 50,000 hotels and resorts; the early hotel development of Expedia under the Microsoft ownership, as well as founding the Luxury Publishing Division of Advanstar Communications as a joint venture with HRW Holdings. Included in the venture were the launch of Premier Hotels and Resorts, The Luxury Travel Shows, Luxury Travel Advisor Magazine and the acquisition of Travel Agent Magazine, all of which represented large profit centers upon the sale of the company to Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette.
Today, as Chairman and Partner in Attract China llc, Mrs. Bush is chairing the nationwide marketing expansion of Attract China via the HRW network of sales and marketing offices throughout the U.S. “Our goal is to educate the hotel, resort and tourism industries on the valuable Chinese Travel Market which promises to be the fastest-growing and ultimately dominant market for inbound travel to North America, as well as the rest of the World.” she states. “Every one of our marketing experts comes with decades of experience on guiding hotels, resorts and destinations on the best resources for building business and market presence,” she said. “And we intend to do the same by educating them on the Chinese Traveler and the practical and results-producing ways to gain a presence in the Chinese marketplace via Attract China, which is the Leading Gateway to the Chinese Traveler.”
Mrs. Bush serves on a number of public and private industry boards and recently completed her assignment on the President’s International Trade Commission, chaired by the current World Bank President, Robert Zoelleck. Her Forbes profile can be found here.
